I love you.
----------------------- :. .: -----------------------

A room filled with dancing shadows... Within it, nothing moved... All there was was the dead silence that filled the room, apart from the occasional sob. Black curtains were drawn, blocking out any light that could seep in from the outside. All that could be made out in the waning light that the dying candles were giving off was a bed and two figures... One was lying on the bed... and another, holding her hand...

There she lay, beautiful as the glow that emitted from the flickering flames... And slowly fading away like the dying flames... With her hair splayed out, the unnaturally pale complexion and the dimness in her usually bright eyes, both knew that her end was drawing near... The shadows that danced around... Death would soon have the sweet taste of her soul which it had always longed for since her birth...

Weakly turning to the man beside her, she whispered weakly, "Ein... Please... Tell me the story of how we managed to return to each other even after I was killed in Seth's revival..."

Desperately trying to smile, but failing terribly, Ein brought her hand gently to his lips and kissed it... Oh... How he wanted to hug her and never let her go... Yet, there she lay... Looking so fragile... It seemed as if she would shatter should she be handled too roughly... Gently bringing her hand down again, Ein closed his eyes and readied himself to tell the story...

"We were trying to stop Hector then... all five of us... he was plotting on gaining all power for himself... To become that equivalent to a god and rule over all... When we found Hector, we thought we had him there... Yet he escaped... So we gave chase... Searching everywhere, we could not find him and I, as you put it, was driving myself over the edge..."

Pausing for a moment, Ein looked sorrowfully into Fia's eyes and whispered, "I've always appreciated that you were always there for me... no matter what..." Upon hearing that, Fia smiled weakly and Ein continued.

"When we found Hector a second time, we were ready to deal him the final blow... But we were not ready for what happened next... Malice had seemingly appeared out of nowhere and grabbed you... With that, Hector had summoned all his power and..."

Ein, trailed off, as the painful memory washed over him. Composing himself, he resumed his story...

"Hector summoned all his power and directed it towards you... I will never forget that scream of pain that came from you... It tore right through me and hurt me so much... Yet, there was something about you that showed more clearly than ever at that moment... Your selflessness... Even though you were at your last breath... You still tried to comfort me and urge me on..."
Tears welled up in Ein's eyes and threatened to break and set him crying but Ein thought resolutely //No! I must stay strong... For Fia...//

"When Hector explained his plan to us in a form of mockery, my despair turned to anger... The anger turned to rage... And the rage turned into hatred towards him... How dare he take you away? How dare he cause you so much pain for some scheme of his... When he merged with Seth... All I could think of was to bring down judgment on Seth-rah once and for all... To avenge all those who had died for this cause... And to avenge you..."

Ein paused yet again to draw a single shaky breath and hold onto Fia's hand tighter, almost as if he was afraid to lose her...

"When the battle was done, the maze of shadows was collapsing... Yet I couldn't leave... Life was not worth it without you... Then... Ursula transported the rest of us out of the collapsing labyrinth and revived you... Before she faded away entirely... She told me something: It was our bond... Our love that made it possible for her to even revive you..."

Ein then ended the story with a sigh. There, the silence lay heavily over them. After a moment, Fia finally placed her other hand over Ein's and smiled weakly, "Thank you... It was more than I could ask for..."

Just then, Fia was seized by a fit of coughs. At that moment, the shadows started dancing more wildly and the flames grew yet dimmer... Both lovers knew that Fia's time was almost up. Voice filled with urgency now, Fia drew yet closer to Ein and whispered weakly, "Ein... Before I go... I have something to tell you... I want you to always be happy..."

However, all Ein could do was give a choked sob as he saw Fia start to fade away... "Ein..." Fia's voice grew even tinier, "I want you to be happy... Smile once for me... I want to see that smile that I've always loved... After all, goodbye isn't forever... We'll meet again in the future..." Tears were now streaming down Fia's face...

Seeing that, Ein desperately tried to smile but failed yet again. //For Fia...// With that, Ein tried to smile yet again and managed a painful smile. Bringing a hand up to Ein's cheek, Fia gazed at him and tried to memorize the details of his face one last time. Just then, she felt Death's cold touch at her heart.

Eyes widening in fear and despair, she whispered once more to Ein, voice barely audible now, "Ein... I have one last request... As everything has a beginning, it must have an end... I remember our first kiss as if it were yesterday... One last kiss... To seal it all..."

Nodding his head slowly, Ein gently placed a hand behind Fia's head and another to the flat of her back. Lifting body and face up gently, he placed his lips on hers and they shared their final moment as one... Just then, the candles blew out and they were plunged into darkness. Three words left Fia's mouth and Death violently ripped her soul from her body...

There, two lovers, torn apart by the cruel hands of Death, shared their final kiss in the darkness...

I Love You...

How was it? I'm really surprised that I actually managed to pull a romantic tragedy (if you can count it as one) off... Please read and rate... All constructive reviews are loved. If there's any aspect I can improve, pray tell.

A deep silence hung within the chilly night air as a feminine female was seated upon a chair, leaning back into it and displaying a somewhat relaxed air around her. She was a dressed in a deep red night gown, which bared her shoulders, creating a somewhat alluring appearance. Her head was covered in fiery red hair which flowed past her shoulders smoothly, ending at her hips. Her eyes, which sported crimson pupils, displayed thoughtfulness as she read a book that she held loosely within her hands. Wiggling her toes, which were inside fluffy, pink bunny slippers. Looking up from her book slightly, she secretly peered at a certain male who had just come out of the bathroom, after having taken a bath, wrapped in only a towel to cover his nether regions. Blushing slightly and giving a wry smile, she returned to her reading, she occasionally sneaked a peek or two at him before he stepped into the changing room and closed the door. Sighing in disappointment, she took one last look at the closed door before returning to her reading and becoming absorbed within the story once more. Slowly, without realizing it, the red-head's eyelids slowly drooped as sleep gently coaxed her towards its embrace.

By now, the male, who had been closely watched by the currently sleeping red-head, was done putting on his clothes and had stepped out of the room when he noticed that she was sleeping. A small smile tugging at his lips, he silently walked over to her and gently carried her up, careful not to wake her, and brought her up to Fia's room. Gently placing her down on Fia's bed, which was already overcrowded with three snoring girls, he chuckled lightly as he gazed at the red-head. He gently lifted a hand to stroke her cheek when she shifted slightly in her sleep. Freezing for a moment, the male slowly withdrew his hand as he glanced sadly at the object of his affection. She was so many years his senior... sure... she might still be considered young... yet, they could probably never be. Sighing resignedly, he stepped out of the room and went down to the makeshift bed in the living room, lying down upon it and fell into an uneasy sleep...

The hours passed quickly and dawn soon arrived... perhaps too soon. The male was awoken abruptly by joyful squealing and fell off his bed along the way. Giggling, a girl dressed in bright yellow winter clothes jumped about excitedly, with her carroty pigtails bouncing wildly upon her head. "Lina sees snow!" yelled the excited girl, looking slightly demented, from the huge smile plastered on her face and looking slightly rabid, from the fact that the girl looked like she was ready to tear through the door to get the snow.

Not waiting for an answer, Lina burst through the door at such a great speed, that all the male could see was a flash of yellow and orange. There was excited laughter coming from above as three females walked down the stairs. One certain female caught the male's eye. Grinning, he kept staring at her, dead to the world. Just then, he heard an arc speak out, "Ein... if you're done ogling at Cierra, you should really grab your coat... unless you want to stay indoors with all this snow..."

Ein felt his face heat up in embarrassment upon Serene's words. With a face as red as beetroot, he prayed that Cierra hadn't heard but apparently, she had, for she was smiling in amusement and her eyes displayed... something else. However, he didn't bother to contemplate about this as he rushed to grab his winter coat, embarrassed beyond words.

Upon putting on his coat, Ein slowly walked out of the house, he noticed that Cierra was desperately trying to escape from the barrage of snowballs that were hurtling her way. Apparently, Serene, Lina and Fia had decided to team up on her. Chuckling slightly, Ein stood at the doorway, watching Cierra get pelted by snowballs. Just then, Cierra happened to turn her head towards his direction and their eyes met. She paused for a moment, before turning her head, blushing madly. Getting buried under a pile of snowballs that Cierra was being assaulted by, she returned to the game. Ein stared on dumbly, not knowing how to react. Then, he felt something bubbling within him, at the pit of his stomach, something that soon squeezed its way out, all the way through his mouth and he burst out laughing.

The girls stopped their game for a moment and stared at him, confused at his sudden outburst of laughter. "I'll join Cierra!" Ein yelled as he picked up a pile of snow, shaped it into a ball and threw it at Lina.

The snowball hit her spot on the face, causing her to stumble and fall. Lina leapt up from the snow and yelled out, "No fair! Ein caught me by surprise!"

Giggling, Cierra ran over to Ein and took his hand and said, "Let's do this... together."

With that, they both ran together, barraging the three other girls, turning the tide of the "battle". As they both ran, Ein couldn't help but notice how warm Cierra's hand was... and how it seemed to spread all over him, warming him up in the cold. Smiling to himself, he didn't notice that Cierra kept sneaking looks at him, smiling in contentment as well.

The snow war was soon brought uphill as the air was filled with laughter, whereby Molan and Gill had joined in as well to help Ein and Cierra. Serene, Lina and Fia were now faring extremely badly, due to the combined pelting of their four assailants. As Ein jumped and ducked from the snowballs, he suddenly caught his foot on a root. Yelling in surprise, he rolled downhill, accidentally pulling Cierra along with him. The laughter soon turned into screams of terror as a giant snowball, consisting of Ein, Cierra and a whole lot of snow rolled towards a giant fir tree. The giant snowball soon met its appointed target and crashed, flinging Ein and Cierra out of it, while forming into a nicely formed snowman.

Ein landed onto a soft pile of snow, and was in a daze, when he felt something warm landing, and felt something equally warm and full pressing upon his lips. Recovering from his daze, he soon realized that the warm "thing" that had landed on him was Cierra and the way they had fallen had caused their lips to meet. Moaning slightly, he placed a hand upon her back, pulling her closer while Cierra relented, and leaning into him, before the entire situation clicked within their minds.

Both Cierra and Ein scrambled off each other, blushing madly and the heat that radiated from their bodies created a mist from the snow that had melted and evaporated from the heat and condensed once more from the cold air. An awkward silence hung within the air before Ein tried to explain himself, fumbling for words. Cierra wore a mortified look upon her face, causing Ein to feel even worse and even more flustered. However, Cierra's mortified expression soon turned into a cheeky grin as she chuckled, "Aren't you glad we both fell?"

"Did you really mean that kiss? When you pulled me towards you," Cierra continued, her face falling slightly, "Or was I imagining it all?"

Ein blushed madly, as he gave a boyish grin, "I like older women... if you like younger boys..."

Cierra's smile turned brighter than ever as Ein took her hand and they ran back to the group who was peering worriedly at them, checking that they were okay. In the cold winter, two people now felt great warmth within their hearts...

---:Goodbye:---
It's said that sometimes moving on with the rest of your life
Starts with goodbye...

----------------------- :. .: -----------------------

A tranquil night... that's what it was. The entire village of Elendia was a scene of quiescence, whereby everyone had given in to the gentle coaxing of sleep and let dreams reign the night. Everything was a scene of peace, the sky adorned with a myriad of stars, much like thousands and thousands of sparkling jewels. There was a melody formed by a chorus of crickets, each singing out its own unique note. The gentle caress of the wind caused the younger trees to sway to and fro, almost as if they were dancing to the music, while the more resolute trees stood tall and proud, leaves rustling softly, almost as if they were whispering secrets to each other, secrets that were nearly forgotten and lost. It was a peaceful indeed...

A thin sliver of moonlight shone through the window of a house built within a tree, revealing a figure sleeping on the bed. His shaggy brown hair was strewn messily all over the pillow, some of it plastered onto his forehead by the sweat. His breathing was erratic as he tossed and turned wildly on the bed, muttering deliriously to no one. A single female hovered before him, placing a wet cloth on his forehead and dabbing it gently. This female was an example of neatness, with her long green hair tied neatly with a black bow and her outfit very neat. Her normally kind eyes were filled with worry and she kept chewing at a stray strand of hair nervously as she kept looking at the figure lying on the bed. After a moment, she placed a cool hand on his forehead and withdrew it almost immediately... the fever hadn't gone down... Taking the damp towel away, now very warm, she went out of the room to cool the towel once more.

After the gentle closing of the door as the female left the room, there was silence once more. It stretched on for a while more before it was broken by a gentle flapping of wings. A figure flew through the window, landing gracefully onto the ground, almost effortlessly. His jet black wings easily spanned the entire wall behind him as the newcomer folded his wings in a somewhat elegant manner. This newcomer sported shaggy blonde hair and carried a rather pale complexion. Swathed in priest robes of red and black, he also sported a wooden rosary, tipped at the ends with metal, which hung over his neck. He was very tall and the way he stood displayed a person who was regal. One would have thought that this was some sort of spirit... and perhaps he was. The newcomer seemed solid... yet the moonlight shone through him, making him look misty.

Carmine eyes stared at the figure lying on the bed, an unrecognizable look within them. Walking towards the figure, almost as if gliding along the ground, he stopped before him. For a few seconds, there was no movement that could be seen. Then, the newcomer spoke in a baritone voice, "Ein..."

Ein's face, previously displaying agony, seemed to calm down for a moment at the sound of his name. As the figure turned to leave, Ein suddenly stirred, eyes opening slightly and weakly. Everything was blurry to him but as soon as his vision cleared, he seemed to recognize the figure. Voice filled with disbelief, he whispered weakly, "Ledah?"

Ledah did not reply, but motioned to leave. Desperation evident in his voice, Ein whispered once more, "Please don't leave..."

Voice cracking, Ein fought back tears as he begged, "Please don't go..."

Ledah finally turned around and his eyes depicted sorrow as he replied, "I cannot stay... I do not belong in this world anymore..."

Tears now flowing freely, Ein sat up with much difficulty, unable to say anything, as he drew his knees up to himself, forming some sort of ball. Ledah felt a sense of protectiveness when he saw Ein cry. Making a quick decision, he sat down upon the bed and pulled Ein to him. Leaning into Ledah's shoulder, Ein cried weakly as the pain of losing his best friend returned once more... and they remembered...

"Ein... what happened?" Ledah asked as he rushed over to Ein pulling him into an embrace.

The five-year old was crying bitterly, shivering uncontrollably as he leaned into the protective embrace of the older boy. In between sobs, Ein related the incident to Ledah, "The bullies kept beating me and pulling at my wings... it really hurt very badly. They kept saying mean things to me... that I wasn't one of them... that I was stupid and that I am a freak..."

Showing Ledah the livid bruises and welts all over his body, Ledah gently traced them. Carmine eyes blazing, he pulled Ein into a deeper embrace, almost as if he wanted to protect Ein, while Ein continued crying. Whispering, so that only he and Ein could hear, Ledah swore, "As long as I live, I will never let anyone hurt you..."

By now, Ein's sobs had ceased, though tears were still streaming down his cheeks. Pulling away from Ein unwillingly, Ledah stood up tall and whispered, voice cracking as well, "I must now go... I cannot stay any longer... I only came here to say goodbye..."

Nodding his head in understanding, Ein turned his face away from Ledah as he sobbed quietly. Ledah was about to leave before he turned around once more. Eyes displaying compassion, Ledah said, "Before I go... I will leave you something..."

Bending down to Ein, he placed a gentle kiss on Ein's forehead, one of which displayed affection. Ein felt coolness rush through him, and he felt the fever's grip die away. Upon seeing the color return to Ein's face, Ledah took one last look at him before disappearing into the night sky.

Just then, Fia walked in, carrying a bowl of medicine made from herbs, when she noticed Ein's expression. Setting the bowl down on the dresser, she walked over to Ein and asked him gently, "What's wrong?"

Staring at the window that Ledah had flown out of, Ein whispered, barely audible, "Someone came to say goodbye..."

I guess it going to have to hurt
I guess I'm going to have to cry
And let go of some things I've learnt to give to the other side
I guess it's going to break me down
I fall when I try to fly
It's said that sometimes moving on with the rest of your life
Starts with goodbye... (Starts with Goodbye --- Carrie Underwood)
